Always wanted to know how to propagate your own plants?
Thanks to funding from Nelson City Council, we are offering opportunities for you to learn all about growing plants from seed or by cuttings. These regular ‘work and learn’ sessions are free and are led by experienced, friendly people. You will be helping us grow plants for our kiosk and planting in the gardens and you can also take some stuff home.
Sessions are (click the links to find out more about each session):
Semi-ripe cuttings (e.g. gooseberries, olives): January
Winter seed sowing (celery, broccoli, snow peas etc. Includes making potting mixes): January
Green manures and carbon crops (mustard, lupins, wheat, rye etc.): April & May
